Museum Librarian and Head of Library Collections for the Marie Louise Rosenthal Library at the Field Museum of Natural History

Gretchen Rings is the Museum Librarian and Head of Library Collections for the Marie Louise Rosenthal Library at the Field Museum of Natural History in Chicago, Illinois. There she oversees and coordinates all aspects of collections care and management for the Library, including Archives, Photo Archives, Rare Book, and the General Collection. She sets priorities and strategy for museum collections operations in collaboration with other science directors and heads and under the direction of the Director of Collections and VP, Science and Education. Gretchen has also worked in both public and academic libraries as a reference librarian. She received her B.A. in English from the University of Minnesota-Twin Cities, and her MLIS from Dominican University in River Forest, Illinois.
